Reading history WIT Libraries ‘Millennium’ library system allows patrons to record their checkout history. This feature is optional as WIT Libraries do not compile historical lists of patron checkouts. It can be activated in My WITcat in the Your Account section of the Library Catalogue http://witcat.wit.ie/patroninfo/.

To access their accounts patrons will need their WITcard number and a 4 digit pin which can be obtained from the Library Circulation Desk. Once patrons are logged in they will see an option for reading history. By clicking the reading history button patrons can choose to opt in or opt out. Patrons can opt in or opt out at any time but reading histories are only compiled whilst patrons opt in. The advantages of this feature include the compilation of a borrowing list for patrons, which will ultimately reduce the risk of forgetting references. Patrons also have the option to delete individual entries.
